It depends on what you are converting between. Moving between lossless formats like PNG and BMP preserves full quality — every pixel stays identical. Converting to lossy formats like JPEG or WebP involves compression, which can reduce quality slightly. However, you can control this with the quality slider. At 90-95% quality, the difference is virtually invisible to the human eye while significantly reducing file size. For most practical purposes, the quality loss is negligible.
